Meet the Candidates


Incumbent Deputy Mayor Frank Czekay

In January of 2012, Frank joined the Medford Township Council with a goal to bring fiscal responsibility back to local government. Since being elected, Frank has helped Medford Township restore its bond rating of Aa2, increased the town’s operating surplus by over $3 million and provided it’s residents with no increase in taxes in our Municipal Budget over the last 7 years. Before joining Medford Township Council, Frank served on the local Zoning Board of Adjustment for the town from 1997 until 2011, holding the position of Chairman and Vice Chairman during that time. He was also active in the Deerbrook Civic Association and Deerbrook Swim and Tennis Club, serving as treasurer from 2007 to 2014. Frank holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from the Pennsylvania State University, a Juris Doctorate degree from Case Western Reserve University School of Law and a Masters of Law degree from Villanova University.  He is currently a licensed attorney in the State of Pennsylvania, a Certified Public Accountant and employed as Firm Director for the Philadelphia branch of Baker, Tilly, Virchow, Krause, LLP, an Accounting and Consulting Firm. Frank and his wife, Margaret have lived in Medford Township for the past 27 years where they have raised their three children.

Incumbent Councilwoman Lauren Kochan

Since becoming a member of the Medford Township Council in February of 2019, Lauren has made it her focus in local government to keep our community safe and affordable. Before joining the Township Committee, Lauren volunteered her time in many ways to support our township, including being a member of the Medford Township Economic Development Commission, the Medford Township Planning Board, and even served as President of the Tamarac Lake homeowners association board for three years. Lauren holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Carnegie Mellon University in both Economics and Information Technology, and is a graduate of the Medford Township Local Government Institute. She is currently employed as the Vice President of US Operations for SEBPO, a global digital services provider based out of Marlton Township. Lauren and her husband, Kevin have resided in Medford Township since 2011 and spend much of their time raising their four active children ages 11, 10,  8 & 6.
